Ideas for my final film
First Idea- The Effects of Anxiety
One idea that I have is to create a short film on anxiety, and how it effects different people. One way I could do this could be through the eyes of someone with anxiety and how it prevents them from doing daily tasks.
I could also do this through having a physical creature or person that symbolises someone's anxiety.
I could go about this by interviewing people anxiety, and how it effects their everyday life.
I watched a few of videos to get some inspiration for a short film on anxiety.
What Having Anxiety Feels Like
This was a video including the narration of a sufferer from anxiety. She tells us about all the physical symptoms she experiences, and yet doesn't notice. She also uses metaphors and similes, such as 'My anxiety feels like fire.', to describe how she feels on a daily basis. It also includes black and white footage. I like the use of the switch between black and white, and colour. this is because it is effective in overwhelming the audience, thus causing them to experience how anxiety feels.Living With Social Anxiety
This is a short film narrated about someone with social anxiety. She talks about how it stops you from living your life; not getting a job and avoiding going out with friends. A lot of the shots include very colourful mise-en-scene. This works well as it draws in the viewer to what is on the screen. The narration makes it more personal, and allows the audience to feel closer to the character.
I have recently heard about how someone with cerebral palsy life was improved so much by a trained dog. I want to use this idea to create a documentary on the story and its impact on the person's life. I also wanted to make people more aware of cerebral palsy and how it effects a person's daily life.
I looked at some short documentaries on you tube of people with Cerebral palsy to get some knowledge and information on what to include in my short documentary.
Brandon’s Cerebral Palsy Story
Brandon tells us about his story of having cerebral palsy. he tells us about the problems he was faced with, and how he overcame them. the short documentary included archive footage and static shots. This use of a wide variety of different types of cinematography, made the film much more interesting, and allowed the audience to see Brandon's story from many different perspectives and narratives. The film also includes inspirational, joyful music that plays throughout it. This gives the film a positive feel, and makes the audience feel proud of how much Brandon has accomplished, despite his cerebral palsy.
