Group Horror film openeing task- Final Video

  • As a class we produced a opening scene for a horror film. After auditioning people to take part, and finding a setting, this is what our final video came out as.
  • Strengths of our film opening are the interesting and unique shots we got from using a drone to film. Also the suspenseful piece of instrumental music we use to accompany the film is very effective, as it keeps the audience on edge and creates tension.
  • To improve this video we could have had less narration and more dialogue. the narration is very cliché and takes away from the horror of the situation. 
  • We could have also had the more modern part of the story in colour so it is easier for the audience to distinguish between the different time periods.

I plan to add a narration talking about cerebral palsy  and when Jess was diagnosed with it. Here is a rough version of the narration:  Jess,24, suffers from cerebral palsy. She was diagnosed at the age of???. Cerebral palsy is a group of lifelong conditions that affect a person’s movement and co-ordination. Ideas for my final film

First Idea- The Effects of Anxiety One idea that I have is to create a short film on anxiety, and how it effects different people. One way I could do this could be through the eyes of someone with anxiety and how it prevents them from doing daily tasks.  I could also do this through having a physical creature or person that symbolises someone's anxiety.  I could go about this by interviewing people anxiety, and how it effects their everyday life.  I watched a few of videos to get some inspiration for a short film on anxiety.  What Having Anxiety Feels Like This was a video including the narration of a sufferer from anxiety. She tells us about all the physical symptoms she experiences, and yet doesn't notice. She also uses metaphors and similes, such as 'My anxiety feels like fire.', to describe how she feels on a daily basis.  It also includes black and white footage.
